1st, why RU gassy?: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks).  Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Hard to say: Initially you feel bloated because of the Progesterone rising with pregnancy, which slows the bowels down.  As you get further along, the sheer size of the uterus cause pressure on the bowels causing bloating.

Eating habits: If you are eating too much cut back. Watch out for foods that are gas producers. If all this is negative -do you have a lactose intolerance and do milk products cause the problem or have you been checked for gluten sensitivity.

Get labs: It sounds like you need to see an MD and get some lab work to rule out possible thyroid disease based on the wt gain.  You may want to consider testing for celiac disease also.  Your MD needs to do a thorough history (including family history) and physical exam.  More tests may be needed (liver enzymes etc) to help diagnose you.  Try a probiotic supplement for the bloating and keep a food diary.

Common: When a woman takes 2 (or more) bcp packs back to back it is common to have some spotting, called break through bleeding.   Some women can have odd symptoms such as bloating or cramping.  It is fine to finish this pack, have a period and go back to taking the bcp the usual way.

You should not but-: -if you drink a lot of water or supplement this could be the problem, or if you ate a lot just before you work out. If this does not fit your problem, I suggest that you see your PCP, &amp; be sure that there is no medical reason.

Bloating: These symptoms are very non-specific and while usually are benign, an office visit with your primary care doctor makes sense.  He or she will determine if labwork or imaging are needed.
