Unrelated: It is likely they are unrelated. It is difficult to connect her symptoms. Have her doctor do an assessment to help sort her symptoms out. All the best.

Not typical: This is not a typical radiation area for stomach pain. Are you perhaps tensing the muscles in your neck area that could be the cause of your neck pain?

Absolutely: Lying with the head turned 90 degrees for hours at a time can certainly cause neck pain. Lying on the back or side with good neck support is better.

Buckwheat pillow: Try to find a buckwheat hull pillow. They will conform to your neck and the shape of the hulls allows for it to remain in a god position.

Neck pain, nausea,GI: If a fever exists with neck pain movement, this should be seen right away to rule out meningitis. If it has been painful for awhile without fever, chances are that the symptoms are musculoskeletal and the stomach pains/nausea could be dietary (Gastroesophageal reflux) and can improve with Zantac trial OTC and diet changes (no citrus, spicy foods, milk). If it is viral or strain, give Tylenol q 4 h

Unusual: Does not make sense from a medical perspective.  Nerves are soft tissue structures and as such do not even show up on an X-ray.  An exam may give a clinician a suspicion that a nerve is involved.  An MRI is the primary modality that directly shows nerves themselves.

See below: Sharp neck pain usually comes from a degenerative joint or disc in the neck.  Sometimes it's from a muscle strain or sprain.  The pain can refer to the head, shoulders, or arms. Early treatment options include a short course of nsaids (advil, aleve), gentle massage, moist heat, and focusing on posture.  If pain lasts greater than 2 weeks see your physician.
