Yes: It is possible to  have premenstrual symptoms while on oral contraceptives. If you have missed your period - than go ahead and test for pregnancy. Take care.

PMS: Birth control pills may alleviate pms but not always. There are conditions associated with symptoms of pms that need to be treated independently, and require antidepressants or anxiolytics besides the hormonal treatment.

Protection: You must complete 1 month ( an entire packet ) to be protectd. Always take you pills EXACTLY as directed.

Evals needed: Someper-period symptoms - esp mood ones - can be unrelated to hormones. Consider a clinical psych eval for mood and maybe therapy. Also, a OBGYN eval may be useful. BC is not the only help out there. Hope this helps.

hi so my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex on the 28th and i was supposed to get my period on the 2nd. he did not finish in me. i took a postinor 1 pill but my period is 3 days late. i still had pms symptoms after taking the pill. is it possible to?

: Take postinor can delay your period. You can do a urine pregnancy test for easing your concern.

Sure: Birth control is very good at helping with PMS symptoms but does not help everyone. Extended cycle or continuous birth control pills are better than others.

on amethia lo, took 1st pill thursday by mistake due to pms symptoms--didnt start active pills again until monday, still bleeding, how do i stop it?

Double up for 5 days: I am assuming that you have been taking Amethia Lo for sometime already. If the bleeding is heavy or bothersome to you, then you can take 1 tablet twice a day for 5 days and then go back to 1 tablet daily. It may correct the problem sometimes. However, if you have any concern about pregnancy, please do a pregnancy test. Feel better soon.

i get insane pms headaches for 3 days. is it safe to just always take my active pills thus never having a period?

Continuous pills: Yes, it is safe to do this. This is called taking your pills continuously instead of cyclically. It is common for women to do this to prevent getting their period, or to avoid other symptoms such as the ones you are having. Good luck!

During placebo: When you switch to the last 7 pills (placebo) then there is a hormone withdrawal. This can trigger PMS for some. Some brands are made with 24 active and only 4 inactive to help with PMS. Consider changing to this or to an extended cycle or continuous birth control pill.
