Pin Prick: Two questions. If your tetanus is up to date and the sore is not red, swollen, worsening or pustular you do not need to worry. If your tetanus shots are not up to date then you do need this.  (most american children get a tetanus shot at age 15 and do not need it again till age 25).

Is the pin out: Make sure the area is clean, unfortunately pins can cause infection that the person needs to be on certain antibiotics, just make sure it's not infected.

Clean site well: with warm soap and water and THEN the antiseptic. 
You're safe re: Tetanus. 
If painful, soak in warm water.  If continued painful or swelling, need x=ray to be sure some didn't break off.  Good luck.

i stepped on a pin. it punctured my heel. about half an inch went through. three days have past and it still sores. do i need a tetanus shot or wait?

Last tetanus was?: In general you need a tetanus (now TDaP)booster once every ten years.  If you have a penetrating injury and your last tetanus shot was more than 5 years ago you should get a booster.  I would not consider the injury you described as at risk if you stepped on a clean pin in your home,  If you are still having pain, please be sure nothing was left in the wound, i.e. part of the pin.

i stepped on a bobby pin & it got into the side of my foot i took it out but it didnt have the black paint tip on.i am afraid it stayed inside my feet?

Be seen: If you potentially have a foreign body stuck in your foot you certainly would be well suited to be seen and evaluated.

Rest, Ice heel: You need to start by resting and icing your foot a few times throughout the day. It may be a good idea to have your foot evaluate by a podiatrist to rule out any other potential injury to the heel, such as a fracture.

No: Although any cut or puncture could let in the tetanus germ your shot in 2011 is effective in protecting you for 10 years from such exposure. If you work with the soil or do landscaping it doesn't hurt to get a booster every 5 years because of extra risks.

Yes: Pain, redness and swelling may indicate the onset of infection.  Make sure your tetanus boosters are up to date as well.
