i'm 27, i took the pill for 10 yrs and i went off 11 months ago. my cycles are irregular & i want to know why i've recently began spotting midcycle.

?ovulating or not?: If your cycles were normal before starting the oral contraceptive, then it sounds like you are no longer ovulating properly.  This can be due to suppression of ovulation left over from the pill, can be due to thyroid problems, or other hormone issues. Sounds like you need a doctor evaluation.

Normal variation: Mid-cycle spotting is not uncommon due to physiologic drop in estrogen at mid-cycle. It is not an indication of cancer. If it is bothersome, you may go on OCP, or just address it with feminine hygiene products.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.

Normal: It is not uncommon to have breakthrough bleeding at mid-cycle due to natural drop in estrogen levels. It is not abnormal.

i had a midcycle spotting  and i was given primolute n for 15mg for 10 days i am 30 is it safe to take it and am i going to be using it every month?

Progesterone: Progesterone is a commonly used hormone to manage irregular bleeding. It is a generally safe medication for use. You will need to ask the doctor who prescribed it how often and for how long they wanted you to use it

Not sure: If you are trying to conceive, and are having spotting leading up to your next period, this might be the earliest sign of implantation bleeding.  Check a pregnancy test two week after you think you ovulated.

Spotting: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Mid cycle spotting : Sometimes women have this and nothing is wrong but if oral contraceptives help no need to stop them unless you don't mind the spotting.

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time)  is very normal on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time.  If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen  then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working.
