Herpes follows a pattern:
1) Skin Reddening/irriation (Lasts 1-4 days)
2) Blisters (2 days)
3) Ulcerations (1-2 weeks)
4) Scabbing/Crusting (2-3 days)
5) Healing (4 days)

See a Doctor: See your doctor. This forum is not for diagnosis.  Possible causes are herpes, syphilis, mrsa, chanchroid .  Syphilis sores can go away on their own, but that doesn't mean your aren't infected.  Syphilis can hibernate to  later infect brain with a late form of the disease. Seek evaluation by a doctor asap.  Most health departments are also able to evaluate, sometimes a reduced cost.

Mouth ulcers: How long you have been having this ulcer and where in the mouth , tongue, lip floor of the mouth , palate  or gums.I advise you to get a checkup . Ulcers are not a simple thing to over look.
