Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day.

Your kids shared: Hello!  Viral infections can have up to a week incubation period before symptoms are evident.  It is very likely that you and your husband have the same illness as your children due to close contact in the home.  Also, it is even more likely if you and your husband share water bottles, cups, etc with them.  I suggest trying OTC pain/fever reducers and I hope all of you feel better soon!

Inflammation: you probably have a viral if not a bacterial infection.  Ibuprofen may help with the inflammation and pain.  Some people like tea with honey or lemon.  Cough drops can help.  With a virus it takes 2-3 days to clear.  bacterial can take longer and you may need antibiotics.  If not getting better in 3 days see an MD
