It is not uncommon for many patients that undergo severe or frequent vomiting, to have soreness in their abdominal muscles for days to weeks even.  Remember, just as you can cough so hard that you break a rib, you can vomit so hard that you even tear some abdominal muscles.

First use medicine: Medicine to stop vomiting is first thing you need to do. If there is no more nausea/vomiting then something soothing for the stomach would help. Ice cream is pretty rich to digest, low fat milk or broth may be better to start with. An antacid might also help for an acidic stomach in case she has heartburn.

S/p vomiting sorenes: Yes that could be the reason. See what happens over the next 2-3 days should get better if no more vomiting . if persists follow up with  doc, may be due to gastritis or pancreatitis  or gallbladder , but most likely just soreness from vomiting.

Cough with sore ribs: Try the OTC delsym (dextromethorphan) for your cough or get a codeine preparation from your doctor.  The rib pain can be treated with Motrin or in severe cases, a mild muscle relaxant.  You can always try gargling with chloroseptic OTC .  Good luck and feel better!

Negative test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. See a doctor to discuss irregular periods.
