Not muscle; STD?: A man who has a boil on his penis and a lump in the groin probably has an enlarged lymph node in the groin, not a muscle problem.  The question is what is the cause of the presumed infection on the penis.  Sexually transmitted diseases top the list of possibilities.  This deserves investigation; syphilis can appear to go away by itself, but actually cause major delayed complications.

Not likely: Most DVTs cause little pain, but do cause swelling of the leg or foot.

Pain: Pain with active and passive range of motion to your great toe.  There may also be pain to the back of your ankle or pain with plantarflexing of your ankle while moving your great toe up and down.  Hope that helps.

A toast to surgery: I don't see any reason to give up your wine UNLESS..You are taking narcotic pain meds (then NO), if you're a recovering alcoholic (NO again) or you're a mean or sloppy drunk on 1 glass of wine.
