PMS: Anxiety, irritability and mood swings are very common symptoms of pms and are related to hormonal changes in the menstrual  cycle. Some women are more sensitive than others. Please talk to your ob-gyn about it. Pms is treatable.

Use deep breathing: Deep breathing.  Inhale through the nose. Fill lungs (but not to point of discomfort). Hold for a five count. Slowly exhale through an open mouth. Repeat x 12. Moving your arms in a large circular motion can increase the size of the breath.

Rapid heart action with discomfort suggests in this age group the presence of an arrhythmia that requires specific diagnosis and possible treatment.  He needs a thorough history, examination and testing including ECG and blood tests

Nasal congestion: At 5mo the primary cause of congestion are irritants or colds. House dust, fragrance, perfumes, detergent or cleaning products all leave scents that don't bother adults but irritate a babies nose. A good nasal clean out with saline can remove much of this irritant load, but removing the offending irritants from babies life helps more in the long run.Irritants aggravate colds & nasal wash helps.

The : The cause of a chronic cough can be a very tricky problem to figure out in kids or adults.  Common causes include:

-asthma
-gastro-esophageal reflux
-allergies
-chronic sinusitis
-pertussis (whooping cough)
-habit cough 
-pneumonia or other infectious cause such as tuberculosis

it looks like your son's doctor has been doing a good job thinking of these problems and trying to rule out each one with the tests and medication trials they have been suggesting.  Most of these problems will cause coughing all night as well as during the day except for habit cough.  I've attached a website with some information on habit cough which is very common in kids. Ouch need more words: With a limit of 400 charachters one cannot begin to comprehend the act or list the many benefits or headaches it creates.  Much of it is still theory.  Most people like the no refusal of coverage for pre-existing conditions and the extension to adult children of certain ages.  The theory is that if more people get and maintain coverage overall costs will come down.
