Callus remover pads: Have you tried over the counter callus remover pads? They are like bandaids with medicine to help soften callouses.  You can also see your doctor or a podiatrist to have it pared down with a scalpel.

Reduce pressure: A callus is because the skin is being rubbed between a hard surface on the outside(like your shoe) and the bone on the inside.
If you reduce this friction the callus will slowly disappear.  Sometimes this is very difficult to do depending on where the callus is located.
If there is a bone spur(bump of bone) under the callus it can sometimes be reduced by surgery.

Soft corn bone spur: It called a bone spur hm caused by rubbing of the toes.  In fact very common. Treatment is reduction of the callus lesion.  If persistent a minimal incision procedure to reduce the spur can resolve the problem.  See your podiatrist.

Callosity: A blister is from acute friction.  A callosity, the hard part,  is from chronic friction.  Check your footwear.  Check the size against a Bannock device found in most shoe stores and get a pair the is IMMEDIATELY comfortable.  Don't worry about length of shoe by feeling where your toe are. I would guess your shoe was too narrow.

Not permanent, but..: Callosity is simply the body's way of protecting itself from continuing trauma by building up excess tissue at the area of trauma. Scraping can certainly reduce this build up, but it is a dynamic process and will return over  time. Consider adding ammonium lactate lotion to slow the growth. It works by increasing the amount of moisture in the skin and dissolving aggregated skin cells.

See a foot doc: You get the callous due to friction. If you can elimikinate the friction or that which is rubbing you can solve your problem once and for all.

Callous between toes: Is often the result of the two adjacent bones rubbing against each other. If this is the case a podiatrist can shave down the underlying bone to eliminate this problem.
