See OB/GYN now: The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends a woman visit an OB/GYN for an exam in the presence of odor. A persistent odor coming from your vagina might be from vaginitis or other causes. At age 21, you should get your first pap smear, which tests for cervical cancer, and, the USPST recommends young women get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea even if asymptomatic. Good luck

If you have not had: Sexual intercourse (i.e., it' s not sperm) but have a malodorous discharge would see your gynecologist to rule out an std or other infection.

Can be normal: A clear discharge can be normal, especially during ovulation. But if you think there is an abnormal odor, get checked by your obgyn.

Normal variation: Vaginal discharge is produced by cervical cells. Early in the Menstrual cycle the discharge is minimal, clear and typically has no odor. As Estrogen increases, the discharge will be more creamy, milky white/yellow and have a slight odor. Near ovulation, there will be more discharge, and it will be clearer and stretchier.  After ovulation as Progesterone increases there will be less discharge.

Vague symptom : Discharge can indicate many possibilities.  Might be early sign of pregnancy.  Might be sign of infection (bacteria or yeast).  Take a urine pregnancy test and see your dr to further evaluate.

Vaginal odor: Assuming you are not sexually active which you stated, the most common reason may be a lost tampon, you need to check then see a physician.

Discharge: It is probably normal with lochia coming out.  However, if it smells like feces in your vagina you should be evaluated for a fistula.

Infection?: One of the more common reasons for this is an infection such as Bacterial Vaginosis.  You would need and exam by a doctor to find out for sure.  Best wishes!
