If a urine pregnancy test is negative, i would recommend evaluation by your gynecologist, and treatment will depend on the cause of the abnormal bleeding and your current short-term pregnancy goals.

This : This sounds like you are having irregular ovulation. With the side pain you describe, the irregular ovulation may have been caused by an ovarian cyst. If you don't ovulate the lining of the uterus will sometimes continue to grow so that the next time you have a period it is heavier than usual.
