Please ask your gyn: Assuming i know nothing else is causing it in my pateints I have had them do that sometimes, for a certain period of time and usually it works, but u need to ask the doc who put u on that pill as that doc may want to do blood work and an ultrasound to make sure nothing else is going on.

: I would discuss with OB going off the "Lo" part of your birth control and going on a regular strength pill. You may not be on a strong enough dose to stop break through bleeding. This is just going to make any anemia you may have or trying to prevent worse, and the iron you are taking will end up being for nothing as you keep losing blood.

Not normal, see Dr.: Generally, if you are taking your pills every day, your natural hormones are blocked.  The last week of pills has no hormones, which triggers a period.  If you started bleeding in the middle of your pills, the dosage may need to be adjusted to be right for your body.  Stop your pills, use precautions to avoid pregnancy (foam & condoms), and see your gynecologist.  Good luck!

Hormonal control: The loestrin fe is a very low dose contraceptive that is trying to control the endometrial lining which keeps "breaking off" early. This is called breakthrough bleeding which usually resolves during the 2nd month of pill use.

Typically : Typically it takes about 3 cycles(months) for your periods to normalize. However if you do not want to deal with bleeding and spotting for that long you can discontinue the pill and ask your doctor to try another pill with a higher amount of estrogen in it. Something like ortho tri cyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate) may be better for you. Otherwise if you decide to stay on the loloestrin yet continue to bleed go back to your doctor, hopefully she will tell you to stop the pill and give you a pill called Provera to stop the bleeding.
