Risk of colon preps: You are appropriately concerned about risks of colon preps. Regardless of type (lavage &amp; osmotic agents, irritant laxatives, enemas) consideration should be given to: age, size, co-morbidlities, nutritional &amp; hydration debilities, mobility, &amp; help at home. Up to 50% may have nausea, vomiting, fullness/bloating, anal irritation. Greater risks result from fluid &amp; electrolyte imbalance.Talk w/doctor.

4 days ago, i started my cycle and got my meningitis vax. pcp said theres no side effects, however. i am not dehydrated and am getting headaches every time i change my orientation. i have a mucusy mouth feeling and am fatigued. is this a virus?

: If you do not have fever, you may take acetaminophen,for headache, not more than 4 g in a day , no alcohol. If the symptoms do not improve in day or two, it would prudent to talk to your doctor.

More common: Unfortunately as we get older our bodies are much less efficient at getting rid of medicine that we take. This means that a dose for a young adult may be half or less in the elderly depending on their liver kidney function. So often older patients take doses that are too much for them and therefore they get more side effects from this because a regular adult dose is like taking a double dose.

See below: There is no medication to enhance concentration unless you have ADD Attention Deficit Disorder, in which case there are medications to help concentration. These medications, like Concerta, are amphetamine like stimulants that can have side effects. There is no medication to enhance memory in normal individuals.
