Probably: Unless the door was slammed against your finger rather than the nail, your nail should eventually grow out normally. It will take several months, so be patient.

It might be: A healing fracture, when it forms a callous.  But it could be something else, such as tumor.  Show it to orthopedic surgeon.

Ouch! : Sometimes slamming car door on thumb results in soft tissue injury and sometimes fracture. Swelling and redness may occur. Soft tissue trauma usually responds to icing. Fracture is usually detected by radiograph. Treatment depends whether soft tissue injury or type of fracture. If symptoms persist should consult doctor for examination and possible testing.

OUCH!: Depends on the extent of injury and whether or not you've fractured the underlying bone (phalynx). Keep it elevated as much as possible. If it's throbbing, you may need to see your family doctor for pain medication to tide you over. An x-ray would be very helpful! Good luck, mi amigo!

Yes: The nail bed is covered in old blood that alone would not be a concern but with foul odor implies tissue destruction and infection. Needs to be properly evaluated by your doctor.

Doctor can examine: Treatment for a smashed thumb or finger includes: hand rest, cold packs, and elevating that hand up to the chest. Some people use ibuprofen for 3 days to reduce the swelling and pain. If there is tense blood under the nail, the pain is severe, the finger crooked, or the range of motion significantly decreased, one's doctor can examine and treat.

Ouch!: Ice is a good start - but you should see a doctor, get an xray, and make sure you haven't broken any bones.

Nail injury: If there is no infection now, the  nail
will leave and new nail will come under in time ~ 6months). No concerns if not acutely infected.
