Alternatively, you might want to ask about haircuts that compliment your wavy hair.  In general, the more chemicals and procedures your hair endures, the less likely it is to look shiny &amp; healthy.

Healthy diet: Hair growth is very dependent on a healthy diet. Eat a diet rich in fruits and colorful vegetables. Ensure you have adequate protein intake. 80-100 grams of protein per day. Straighten hair: There are no shampoos that straighten hair. The only way to do so is when drying the hair, with a curling iron or straightener, or to have it straightened in a salon.

Race: I think, seriously,  that you should ask a really high reputation hair dresser this question and if not satisfied then sit with your pcp for a discussion.  Thyroid gland can cause hair changes as well as hormonal changes.  Hereditary history is important!  most likely it is just the way your genes were programed!  you will for sure have many compliments!  hair dressings abound for dry hair!

A hair iron: Other than the usual hair flattening iron there is no medical way to straighten hair. the hair is a keratin protein, the same stuff that your nails are, that is inert (dead) once it leaves the skin layer.

You cannot: Hair is either curly or straight and that begins from the "root". There is nothing you can do to permanently change how it grows in. Hormones and age affect hair changes.

Healthy stress free: So hair loss is very complicated and we don't really know very much about it. The simple answers are to live a healthy life: healthy food, regular exercise and activity. And there are a few supplements that can help. Something named biotin - it is a supplement for hair and nails. You want to take 5000 units per day. Then a good multivitamin. One thing to: Consider, especially with your other symptoms, is a problem with your thyroid.  If that is off it can affect your mood, hair and weight.  That would be a good place to start.
