Cardiac evaluation: An evaluation for a cardiac cause and ruling out embolic events is advised. A blood count with differential, CRP and ESR are also suggested. Drink fluids, rest and monitor for fever.

You may need a physical exam and perhaps a X-ray .  If this chronic - then likely something very atypical.  However - checking for tumor inflammation and esophageal reasons maybe appropriate.

Sharp Chest Pain: Chest pain is not a normal cigarette withdrawal symptom. You should be seen in a hospital so they can check your heart and do a proper physical exam. They will have to do some tests on you to make sure this is not something serious.

Get an evaluation: I can't really tell from your question what you have done to get this evaluated. It is worth seeing your doctor and getting a good history and physical done. Your doctor will want to find out when it happens, if there are things that make it worse or better, exactly what the pain feels like, and if there are other symptoms (shortness of breath, racing heart, anxiety, etcetera).
