Brain moves: The brain does move when you shake your head and can give rise to some uncomfortable sensations, but usually not pain unless the process was so severe that brain shearing or damage occurred.

See below: Your symptoms might be due to the position of your head and neck during sleep. If you sleep with your head propped up on several pillows you may want to use just one pillow or try a cervical pillow. However for a precise diagnosis you would have to see your physician for a discussion of your symptoms and an exam.

Stop violent shaking: Most people will get mild headache if they violently shake their head up an down.

Stop it.

You might have more tension in  your neck than the average 18 year old, or maybe some chronic sinus stuff.  That could 'tighten you up' so that you could get a headache from violent shaking.

If you're otherwise feeling well, don't worry about it.

Video: Take a video and see his/her doctor. Between the video and an exam your doctor will know how to diagnose and manage the problem. If the baby is unconscious during these episodes this may be a type of seizure. Is your baby developing normally?
