Resistant yeast?: A few percent of vaginal yeast infections are caused by yeasts resistant to the usual treatments with &quot;azole&quot; drugs (miconazole, clotrimazole, fluconazole, etc). Or maybe you have something other than yeast. It&#x27;s time to see a doctor for professional diagnosis and perhaps a prescription for non-azole treatment. Good luck!

100% monogamous relationship! she always has issues for weeks after sex with yeast infections. combination of both of us smells horrible! she is on medication for crohn's and ra. no street drugs very little alcohol. why are we toxic?

: Likely, steroids such as Prednisone, is the culprit if she is taking this med for Crohn and RA. Without steroids but taking other immunosuppressive medications also put her at risk for vaginal candidiasis. Besides personal hygiene and medication (oral or local) she may need prophylactic therapy if she continues to take steroids or other immunosuppressive meds.
Diabetes mellitus is also a risk.

It can contribute: Yeast infections are due to a fungus called candida which is normally found in the vagina. However, if there is a lack of healthy vaginal bacteria it can lead to overgrowth of yeast. Some causes of overgrowth: antibiotics, ^ estrogen (pregnancy or some birth control pills), malfunctioning immune system, diabetes mellitus as well as friction against vaginal tissues (intercourse) and douching.
