: If you want to avoid pregnancy take oral contraceptive on a regular basis, You may consider an implant or an IUD. While Plan B is effective, it has more side effects.

two weeks ago i got a bilateral salpingectomy and unilateral oophorectomy. my dr said sex can wait a couple more weeks or if i decide to now, just be gentle. but what about orgasms without penetration? are those safe to do without risk of injury?

Generally ok: Masturbation is generally safe after this type of surgery, but of course, you will want to verify with the doctor who performed your surgery and knows exactly what procedures were done.

i had a miscarriage, after uterus evacuation i was told not to ha e sex for 6 weeks. ibwas due to go for a check up but i couldn't as i had an exam. i would like to know if i can now have sex or wait to go to the dr.

You can if all's OK: (As there is no scientific basis for recommending to everyone "not to have sex for 6 weeks" after a uterine evacuation) If you feel well,have no pelvic pain,no fever, no vaginal bleeding... it is really quite reasonable  to resume your sexual activity whenever you are in "the mood and feel like it" unless you need special counseling for contraception,reproductive life plan or other personal issues

Wait for antibiotics: Wait until you are back on your active birth control pills for at least a week. Many sources recommend an alternate or additional source of contraception (ie. condom) for a MONTH after finishing antibiotics for optimal protection. Thanks for a great question.

: You are taking risks with your behavior. You are at risk of not only pregnancy but also STD. Relying on Plan B for contraction is not a good policy. Get an IUD or hormonal implant, or take oral contraceptive regularly. Worrying is not an answer.

Depo contraception: Depoprovera injections typically are very successful at pregnancy prevention though not 100% fool proof.  The longer on depo, the longer it will take you to ovulate and then become pregnant. If you are trying for pregnancy you should be off the depoprovera and your ovulation pattern will start again in 3-6 months from the last Depo-Provera shot.

We used to say that a blood test may confirm pregnancy prior to period, however , at times this has also been faulty.
