No yeast, but...: Vegetable oil won't cause yeast infections. However, no oils are very good sexual lubricants; water-based products are much better. They can be purchased at any drug store. In addition, oil can weaken latex condoms, with higher risk of breakage. Never use oil for lubrication if also using condoms for contraception or for STD/HIV prevention.

: Are you wondering if the "bread flavoring" might have meant live yeast that could infect you? If so, no worries at all. Live yeasts would never be included in such a product. And the yeasts involved in baking are different from the ones that cause human infections. There is no possibility you have a yeast infection from such a source.

Lubricants : Lubricants that contain glycine and oil based are more likely to cause yeast infections.   Ask for a glycine-free water soluble lubricant that is not flavored and also does not have fragrance added.  Another good alternative are silicone based lubricants.  Hope that helps.

However, if there is a lack of healthy vaginal bacteria it can lead to overgrowth of yeast. Some causes of overgrowth: antibiotics, ^ estrogen (pregnancy or some birth control pills), malfunctioning immune system, diabetes mellitus as well as friction against vaginal tissues (intercourse) and douching.

Frequent sex: When intercourse occurs episodically(q6months) but "feverishly", the vaginal ph(acidity/alkalinity) changes and the good bacteria(doderlein's) that are responsible for keeping the pH slighly acid(4.5 to 5.5) cannot recover fast enough since semen is alkaline in nature. Yeast like warm moist alkaline conditions, so keep the vulvar area dry and wear cotton underclothing post-sex.
