Altered gut flora: When you have an infection, like the flu, it can change the mix of bacteria that normally live in your colon.  
That can give you gas, bloating and change the color of your stools.  A few days of yogurt and normal diet  should straighten things out.

Irritable Bowel: Constipation predominant irritable bowel most likely but work-up including colonoscopy should be done to be sure there is nothing more serious going on.

Hydrate: Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids. It sounds like you have a case of gastroenteritis. If the diarrhea does not resolve consider seeing your doctor for testing and treatment.

Look for the "FODMAP" diet for specifics.

Gas/constipation : This could be from constipation. Are you staying well hydrated?  Be sure to eat slowly - it takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to catch up to your satiety level. Be careful about gas-inducing foods (such as beans, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, prunes, apricots, sweeteners, dairy, whole grains). If you've already tried a bunch of OTC medicines, it is best to see your doctor. Best wishes!

Caraway seeds: Poppy seeds taken in quantity can give you a false positive for opiates. It's possible that caraway seeds can do the same thing.

Accepted Answer

: Drinking carbonated beverages means you are ingesting CO2 gas which often results in burping and occasionally gas. Bloating may be a different problem, but if resolved by expelling that gas, up or down is a sign of retained gas.  Swallowed air, excess CO2, or certain foods like beans, onions, garlic and cruciform vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage) may cause the bloat.
