All of the above: It is possible the underlying condition resulting in the use of medication could be a problem.  If 25-oh  vit d 3 levels are normal,  free T4 levels are normal, and cortisol is not  high in the evening, eating 6 small equal meals, managing stress skillfully, and moving though the day with some thing as simple as pretend jump roping for 60 minutes spread out in 1-2 minute intervals  should help.

Psychoactive: Agents that affect behavior and mood can typically affect appetite and secondarily weight gain (less frequently loss).  Not really a metabolic shift with Zoloft (sertraline) per se.

Typically Not: For the most part, Sertraline tends to be considered weight neutral. That is, in most people who take it there does not appear to be a significant change in weight over time.

No: Sertraline does not affect the metabolism of methylphenidate and vice versa. Some unproven but helpful ways to decrease tolerance to stimulants are with magnesium or with memantine.

No: Antidepressants don't effect metabolism. Feeling less depressed may relieve fatigue and you feel more energetic. Also, all ssris like sertraline decrease your satiety or sense of fullness/hunger and people often eat more because they do not feel full.

Not likely.: In general, zoloft (sertraline) is weight neutral.  However, anything can happen in any patient with any medication because each person is truly unique.

i recently did a metabolism test and it showed i have very low testosterone. i was on sertraline (12.5mg) for almost 3 months and stopped to start taking 25mg of dhea. since they're both low dosages, is it safe to take both?

DHEA: DHEA has some interactions with certain psychiatric medications but I'm uncertain about sertraline even in small doses. Your pharmacist will have more information about this.

Unlikely, but....: Each person can be very different. Lists of common effects don't mean they'll happen - certainly not all! And a decrease is what some report. But you may be different. Discuss it w/ your Dr. It's probably unrelated and you might be able to resist it w/ some CBT therapy skills aimed at eating issues. Best!
