Quite awhile: It can take several months for the light pink discoloration (erythema) from 2nd or 3rd degree burns to completely fade. It's not uncommon to also have some pain in the area even after the skin is healed. Good skin care: routine lotion and sun protection/avoidance will speed the process.

See dermatologist: If this has persisted for that long, I would suggest seeing a dermatologist for an evaluation, possible biopsy and/or treatment recommendations

Get out of the sun: Once you've started to burn, there has already been more damage to the skin than is immediately apparent. Most importantly protect the skin from further sun exposure/damage. Get out of the sun, if impossible cover the burned and other exposed skin areas with clothing to prevent further sun damage. Additional sunscreen would be my last option but it is better than nothing.
