Unlikely, is ossible: Air embolism is at greatest risk from oral sex where air is blown into the vagina, or from unusual positioning during intercourse, e.g. Anal sex. Pregnancy puts women at higher risk of air embolism, so you are justified in being concerned, proceed at your own risk

It is safe: Sex during a menstural period can be a bit bloody, so one consequence is blood-stained sheets, clothes, furniture, etc...  Pregnancy is usually not possible, unless sex is at the very end of a "long period" and sperm stays alive for several more days until the next ovulation happens. In real life, air embolisms from typical sexual intercourse (penis-vagina) is not something people worry about.

As beyond the cervix, at the fimbria of the fallopian tubes is a direct opening into the abdomen-pelvis.  The fimbria open up to but are not fused to their respective ovary.  Air embolism only occurs when, say, an IV is injected with air (poor technique)...
