43 yr. old female. fbg is 97.  a1c is 5.5.  very thin (102 lbs, 62 inches). never been overweight. don't smoke. never had gestational diabetes. i eat one meal a day. fast 20 hours daily, then eat dinner. numbers seem high. borderline prediabetic?

Exercise: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, none of your results are a cause for concern. You can help your cause by exercising about 150 minutes/week.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i had gestational diabetes in the past. on 2/22/20 my  a1c was 5.5 and fasting 91, both normal. however i decided to spotcheck after a meal and it was 165 1 hour after i had sushi. does this mean im prediabetic now? do non diabetics spike this high?

Blood sugar:  Sometimes a person' s post prandial  blood sugar will be high l after a carbohydrate rich meal (and sushi contains rice). This does not mean you are pre-diabetic.

Many strive: for fasting sugars of 95 or below,  2 hours after a meal 120 or below.  Confirm with your doctor to be sure.
