Safety: More and more reports suggest that chronic use of ppi's are not safe. H2 blockers like zantac and pepcid are probably safer. Pepcid is probably the most potent H2 blocker.

Topical tx is safe: This should be safe since it is a topical treatment.  Just curious where are you using this?  If not on the breast near the nipples I do not see an issue

You don't: but a compounding pharmacy could. Salicylic acid is, indeed, acidic. It is used for burning the skin. It's effects are delayed so even "trying a little bit" could be dangerous when it "seemed safe" but the burning occurs later.
