please answer. recently i finggered my girl with dried semen in my hands. but before that i sprayed rubbing alcohol and my hands were dry. im worried because my gf said that she felt weird about her body. its been a week now since it happened?

Alcohol: It is very unlikely that your girlfriend is pregnant and, while her body may feel ‘weird’ to her, it is not because she was harmed.  Dried semen with alcohol wash is dead semen and you likely got more of the alcohol than she did.  My impression is that she is anxious about this and you are, too.  Relax.  I respect your concern but you will both be fine.

Accepted Answer

Generally OK: There are some studies showing that alcohol and caffeine do not affect sperm count or motility.   It is generally not part of the pretest instructions to abstain from alcohol.  No sex for 3-5 days before the test is best, if alcohol encourages you to be sexually active, then it may be best to not drink.

Long term use: Semen analysis tests are better indicators of health 2-3 months before the test. The sperm development cycle is 75 days, so an insult like alcohol usually shows up later. Sometimes we see effects sooner too. Alcohol is a sperm toxin in my experience but the effect is unpredictable (think alcoholics with kids) . Many men who stop all alcohol have improved sperm and then pregnancy. Moderation good.

Accepted Answer

No: Sperm basically has an all or none response. Long term alcohol may affect a man’s overall sperm count and function but if they work then they work. It is not linked to miscarriage. If your partner has an alcohol problem consider helping him seek help and treatment prior to parenting together.

if you applied alcohol or hand sanitizer on your hand, and then touched a t-shirt that has wet semen on it, will the sperm die once it hits your hand due to the presence of alcohol in the hand?

: Sperm are fragile. They are formed with just enough energy stores to survive inside the warm/moist vaginal mucus. If they are outside the body on any surface they die in minutes. The addition of any caustic agent like alcohol/sanitizer/soap will kill them on contact.

: Any sperm on your hands/fingers died during the process you described. Dead sperm don't make babies.

Topical, right?: I am assuming you mean topically during massage. Rubbing alocohol can do a couple of things to help get a massage deeper into muscles or relax them. First, the temper change and sensation on nerve endings in your skin can help muscles relax. Second, the alcohol acts as a varying lubricant on your skin that changes through out the massage that allows different pressure. Hope this helps!

NO: It's the not the kind of alcohol that is tested for.   However, I would not recommend that it be ingested.
