Could be many things: Depends on exact location,  groin or outside of hip? Sharp  pain that does not go away for while could be muscle pull but if it lasts &gt; 3 weeks need xray and exam.

Pinched nerve: This could represent a pinched nerve in the lower thoracic spine.  Alternatively, the pain could be coming from your gallbladder, or some other abdominal pathology.  I would recommend seeing a physician for further evaluation.

Impossible: You cannot in any way change the shape, width, girth, or any other measurement of your bones.  They will grow according to a lifetime of nutrition, exercise, and genetics.

?scoliosis: If you have a curvature of the spine , as we get older this can affect the rib cage and give the visual impression that the ribs are uneven and protruding.  Please see an orthopaedist.
