D and C?: If there is a 2.9 cm area on sonogram suspicious for retained products of conception most doctors would treat this surgically with a D and C. I can not speak to your specific case but with the limited information this course of medical management is not likely to be effective

Miscarriage: I can not see your attachment but if you have retained products of conception after a D and C, I am guessing it was all removed because you got this from the path report.  If you have the retained POC on an ultrasound after the D and C then you need to get back with your doctor and see what needs to be done.  Assuming all the pregnancy was removed at the D and C, wait for 2 cycles and try again!

Yes: When a woman is having a miscarriage bleeding and pain often occur. You should however call your doctor if it last more than a day. Call your doctor if you have any concerns.... Take care

Not sure of question: Is the question that if you had an abortion and have retained products do you have prolonged bleeding- then yes. Are you asking if you have retained products after an abortion does that cause a miscarriage? That answer is that the bleeding associated with retained products is not called a miscarriage if it occurs after an abortion.

how long does it take for retained tissue after an ectopic miscarriage?

Retained tissue?: An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that has implanted in the fallopian tube, not in the uterus.  These are usually treated with a medication called Methotrexate or surgery.  There is no retained tissue within the uterus, if that is what you mean.  If treated with methotrexate, HCG levels are followed to zero, and women should not get pregnant for about 4-6 months.

Accepted Answer

No: Endometriosis doesn't come from having a miscarriage.  The two are largely unrelated.  In fact, endometriosis is most associated with difficulty getting pregnant.  Recurrent miscarriages do occur but the odds are in your favor against this.

Need more info: If you have had only 1 miscarriage, you do not need antiphospholipid antibody testing done. Anyway, there are more tests in the panel. If only 1 of these tests came back low positive, it is not significant. There is no harm in taking 81mg Aspirin during pregnancy. Good Luck.

i miscarried last time i checked my hcg level was 60 now it went down to 2.80 do i have to check again to see if i still have product of the babe left?

No: Non pregnant women will normally test positive for hcg.  Usually up to 5 is considered normal and non pregnant.  Your level of 2.8 means that you're back to normal.

?: Not all miscarriages are the same and have different sources for their cause.  If your pregnancy losses were less than 10 weeks there would not be a need to test apa as the pregnancy hasn't yet established a blood supply. The body does a great job of eliminating abnormal pregnancies. There may be nothing wrong.
