Yes: You need to file or shave down the cracked tissue and then apply crisco and cover with Saran wrap and put a sock on it overnight.

Coconut oil: Is one 'home remedy'  that has been helpful for several of my patients. If it persists, some prescription medication might be needed.

Moisturize them : If regular moisturizer is not working try going to sleep with Saran wrap on the feet under a sock after applying the moisturizer. Alternatively a high concentration urea cream is often helpful. ( over 40%).

Yes : Especially if you leave in dry cool area. Apply lots of moisturizer to heels.

Moisturize: Try using urea or lachydrin (lactic acid) based lotions twice daily and then moisturize with vaseline and cover with cotton socks at bedtime.  It might take a while but this should help.  If things don't improve you may want to have your feet checked by a dermatologist to rule out other causes.

Cure Deep Heel Crack: Soften the hard skin around the crack with moisturizer of choice &amp; try to remove as much as possible with a pumice stone. Mix some over the counter athlete's foot cream with the moisturizing cream. Apply with gloves-so the cream goes into your heel &amp; not hands. A good ingredient for the moisturizing cream is urea cream.

Dry heel skin: You're on to something using Vaseline. Try scraping or scrubbing off dry hard skin, cover with a thick moisturizing cream or balm (recommended by your pharmacist) and then seal it off with Vaseline.

Flip flops: Wearing flip flops or sandals with open backs is usually the problem. Also walking barefoot on hard surfaces can worsen the issue. Always wear shoes and sandals with closed backs or straps to keep them in place while walking. Using creams such as urea 40% cream and vaseline nightly with cotton socks can help improve the dryness and cracking. See a dermatologist if not improving.
