Doctor can evaluate: Itching usually means there is histamine being released in the skin, often as part of an allergic reaction to something. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can check to see what might be making the skin itch. Skin dryness, or reactions to foods or medications, can cause itching. Occasionally, a person with internal problems like liver or kidney disease can also get itching.

i have ana 1:640, flares joint swelling w/redness, photosensitivity, rashes, sharp chest pain, raynauds, chronic dry mouth, eyes. sed and crp always neg. why?

Lupus still likely: I am sorry that you have these troublesome signs and symptoms of lupus with likely sjogren's. There is a saying among pathologists that a three-legged dog is still a dog, and that a wise physician focuses on the patient rather than the numbers. The sed rate is the easiest of all lab tests to do wrong, and i've never set much by CRP for anything. Hoping you & your rheumatologist find what works bst.

Irritation: Well endowed women or women joggers can get a frictional dermatitis from movement of the breasts.  Bra material or personal creams applied on the breast can cause an allergic reaction.  If it is a persistent problem, it needs evaluation by your dermatologist.

Could be eczema: It sounds like eczema.  Try an otc steroid cream twice a day for 1-2 weeks.  If persistent, see your dermatologist.

Hot tub folliculitis: Healthy skin is resistant to infection, but when swimming, friction of bathing suit and moisture allow bacteria to infect hair follicles and cause the rash.   More common from soaking in a hot tub and the bacteria is usually pseudomonas. The rash usually clears without Rx if you keep the skin cool and dry.

Need exam: Canisten is a yeast treatment. That would be the most likely cause of a rash, but if it is not working after 3 weeks you need to see a doctor for an exam and consideration of alternative treatment.

my left nipple has been itchy for years,it's less sensitive than my right.the itch drives me crazy, it's not red,has no rash,i'm not breastfeeding. the nipple looks perfectly fine except for that itch.so my question is what's causing this horrible it?

Nipple symptoms : This type of sensation may very well be secondary to a nerve that is being stimulated in your skin. However, it is important to make sure the tissue behind your nipple in the breast is normal and thus I would recommend discussing this with your women's health provider. The ducts that go from your breast through the nipple could be involved and a mammogram may be necessary.

could it be cancer? breasts have itched for 6 months, had a rash on left 3 weeks ago, raw/red nipples on both 12/25, now both armpits and breast hurt.
