i had an mri 10 days after noticing leaking of urine  and strange feelings in the rectum that showed a mild central disc extrusion at l5-s1 without spinal cord compression. i have incontinence and numbness in the groin/genital area. what  is this?

Follow up. : You certainly want to follow up immediately with those symptoms.  By what you are saying about your MRI lumbar, it does not sound like it is coming from there.  So further testing needs to be done immediately to determine the cause and guide appropriate treatment.

so i had a pudendual nerve block 2 days ago but starting today i am having horrible pain in my rectum and my tailbone area and its shooting down my legs and tingling and my legs are numb any idea what this could be i can hardly walk because it hurts?

Act today: You need to contact your doctor immediately, as this is NOT a normal response, and indeed, could even represent an injection complication such as an infection.  Indeed, it may well be best to go to a local emergency department.  Do NOT delay, get proactive now!!

Pain and numbness: I would highly recommend that you see a spine doctor, and probably get an MRI. Your symptoms are indicative of a spinal disease- herniated disc or spinal stenosis or some other nerve compromise. Please see a neurologist right away

i had si joint fusion surgery 4weeks ago.my rectum is totally numb.i have taken pain pills for years, that is not it.how is this connected?

Likely nerve injury: It seems that nerve to the skin around anus has been damaged. This may have been unavoidable and could be a known complication of this type of surgery. It may improve with time.

i occasionally (once 2-3 mos) get sharp pain in rectum and it becomes numb. went to doctor before - he said spasms. it's not hemorrhoids. ideas?

Yep.: Probably right.  Proctalgia fugax. Can be very vexing. May want to talk to someone with some experience in this area.

That's : Either rectal prolapse or a hemorrhoid . Only a urogyn or some surgeons can tell the difference.

No: A cluster of more serious symptoms that would warrant a trip to the Emergency Department would include:  Localized sharp lower back pain, bladder or bowel incontinence, sharp/stabbing pains in your lower extremities, or weakness in your legs or feet.  The issues you are having should be addressed with a physician in the office who can perform a more detailed neurological exam.  Best of luck!
