i'm breastfeeding and my baby is gaining weight very nicely according to the grow chart however he's not pooping. the clinic nurse suggested that i use glycerine suppositories. he's only pooping when i use it ones in 5-7 days. is this normal?

Can call Dr on video: The doctor can evaluate and decide if the baby is fine or is constipated. Some babies do not poop every day, while others are having problems and need to poop more often than that. Generally, as long as a baby is normal in breastfeeding, growth, and development; and has very soft poops, no bloating, no fussing; then whether he poops once every 5-7 hours or every 5-7 days is not very important.

Safe drugs for BFmom: According to American Academay of Pediatrics (AAP), most pain killers, including Naproxen, is approved for use during breast feeding .
There is not much difference between side effects of medicines taken by different routes as they get absorbed to enter the blood stream.

i am badly constipated. iv taken movicol, fibrogel and a suppositorie and nothing is helping. iv been taking diclofam and paracetamol daily. due to breastfeeding my nipples are damaged and painful. i need help?

Help: For constipation:  make sure to drink plenty of water, at least 2 liters a day and eat foods with lots of fiber like pears, prunes, green leafy vegetables, drink coffee.  Try magnesium, and stool softener daily
For cracked nipples, make sure to use nipple cream liberally and make sure your baby is fully latching with entire areola in mouth.  Assistance from lactation nurse may help
