53 y/o. feb 2019-may 2019 had rectal bleeding a few times a week no pain or constipation no blood in stool. blood separate from stool. today feb 2020 saw bleeding hours after using toilet. no pain. ate beef yesterday. 1 dr said possibly hemmoroids is?

Rectal bleeding: Common sources for rectal bleeding include hemorrhoids, but other causes can be the following: anal fissure, proctitis, cancer, diverticulosis, constipation, angiodysplasia. Hemorrhoids typically will resolve with increasing fiber in the diet and doing things to not get constipated. If your bleeding persists best to be seen and get a rectal exam.

You need: To see a GI doctor or colorectal surgeon, sooner rather than later before it becomes a life threatening emergency! this does not seem like something you should wait on for a few days to "see if it gets better". Blood in stool: Suspicious but your age is in your favor unless a strong family history of colon or breast cancer. Likely another cause. I would see your PCP.

Not necessarily: Slow bleeding from colon cancer can lead to anemia, without visible blood or black tarry stools. More often than not, anemia is the presenting symptom, especially for right sided colon cancers.

Yes you can: Use a dose (17 gm packets) daily, but also recommend you start taking supplemental fiber (like metamucil or equivalent) along with.  This will help you be more regular naturally.  Once you feel you have "cleaned out" somewhat - stop the MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) but continue the fiber on a daily basis.  Also try warm soaks on your hemorrhoids, and topical creams with steroid (hc) may help, too.

Several diseases: The most important question is that have you had colonoscopy? At your age it is very important to make sure that this is not rectal cancer. 
The most common causes of your symptoms are anal fissure, anal fistula, hemorrhoids, colitis (inflammation of the colon), anal warts, anal cancer and several other diseases. I think you should see a colorectal surgeon to examine the anus.

my poop be curved and hooked for about 2-3 weeks now i do have ibs i have no rectal bleeding at all.also when i go wipe i notice a soft bulging lump on the left side of anus that when i press feels flat again but i can only feel it if i push to poop?
