It doesn't: If the period is delayed for more than a day or two after the "morning after pill", then there is some other reason for the delay. It would not be due to the "morning after pill".

took 2 tablets of diclofenac sodium to reduce swelling tissue on ankle (prescribed by doc) on aug 28th. can it cause to delay periods?

Yes: A good study from the Netherlands documented that NSAIDS and in their study diclofenac can affect the menstrual cycle.  Not illogical because they are prostaglandin inhibitors

Anovulation?: There are multiple reasons for breakthrough bleeding pregnancy being #1. You should rule that out first if not done so already. Other common reasons include lack of ovulation(anovulatory cycle , and stress as well as thyroid and Progesterone hormone irregularities. I suggest you see a doctor if it does not resolve.

Many reasons:: if you are having unprotected intercourse, get checked for pregnancy. You will need a pelvic exam, PAP, female hormone and thyroid function studies and definitive BC if not already on. I suggest an appointment with your GYN.

Some thoughts...: In a woman with regular periods, some causes of a late period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (like birth control pills), hormonal imbalances, etc…  Seeing a doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome. Pregnancy is the common cause of a missed period, if sexually active.

Vaginal bleeding: It is difficult to answer your concerns because : your body may be undergoing some type of stress (cold virus, physical stress like not sleeping enough, emotional stress from daily living, etc...) which could change your cycle dates.  It could be irregular vaginal bleeding or something more serious.  Please have a pelvic exam &amp; discussion with your GYN physician.

Regular Periods: Marvelon is a combination contraceptive pill containing Desogestrel (150 micrograms) and  Ethinyl estradiol (30 micrograms).  On this medication you should have one period a month during the 4th week.  It should not delay your period beyond that.   Best wishes!

Anovulation: You may be experiencing anovulatory cycles. These are cycles in which the ovary fails to release an egg.  This causes the hormonal cycles to become abnormal.  You should see your doctor.

Delayed menses.: Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems. #1 reason is pregnancy.

Late: Since pregnancy is not an issue, I recommend just waiting at this time. Some irregularity in the menstrual cycle is not that uncommon. See a gynecologist if your period doesn't start in the next week or if spotting occurs or if  you have any pelvic discomfort.
