Yeast rash: Yeast infections of the skin often present as beefy red bumps/pimples around a larger red area, these are known as 'satellite papules/pustules'.  This can look very much like a severe case of razor burn.  Otc remedies like clotrimazole, Miconazole or ketoconazole can all be effective for yeast infections of the skin.

Razor Burn Prevent: 1. Start with a high quality, sharp razor and change it out frequently. 2. Warm face with water to open pores and soften beard. 3. Use a lubricant or cream and leave on for at least 60-90 sec before shaving. 4. Drag the razor lightly over the face, do not push! 5. Keep the razor in contact with face versus lifting up after a stroke. 6. Apply lotion or hydrocortisone.

Cortisone cream: If it is infected it may need topical antibiotic such as bactroban (mupirocin). If it is just inflammed cool compresses and Hydrocortisone cream will quiet i down and allow new layer of skin to grow in a few days.

Stop shaving, 4 now: Razor-bumps result from shaving/cutting the hair too short, thus causing the hair to get stuck under the skin causing the bumps. Basically these are trapped hair follicles. Use of some exfoliating skin lotion/cream may help the trapped hair to come through to surface and thus resolve the bumps. So, stop shaving too closely will reduce this. Laser/electrolysis is expensive, but no bumps! good luck.

Testing: Testing for herpes would either involve a blood test or a culture of visible lesions/sores.  If you are sexually active and have not been using protection, it may be prudent to get std screening regardless of symptoms you may be experiencing right now.
