bad eczema rashes all over upper body for past 2 yrs, my dermatologist has tried multi. ointments. helped but still there. help?  super embarrassing!

Hard to say: Without seeing what you just described.Would advise getting a second opinion at this time.In the meantime, use skin cleansers for bathing and moisturizing creams and avoid warm or hot water for baths.Have you tried dermasmoothe oil?Occlusive dressing would help keep your skin moist.

hiv exposure 8 mnths ago hiv t1 t2 and p24 test at 3,4,6 months negative but still having rashes and upper body and lymph nodes in neck area. retest?

See doctor: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you and you should see a doctor. It would be prudent to get retested for HIV nucleic acid. If that test result is negative at 8 months after exposure, that would rule out HIV infection.

Photo would help: The characteristics of the rash are very important to determine the cause. If you can share a photo here on Health Tap- there may be a dermatologist or other doctor who can identify it for you. I wonder if the rash comes and goes or is there all the time? What parts exactly on your body is it found? What exactly does the rash look like? Can you describe it... many Q's but needed to find diagnosis.

i had negative hiv rna test at 11 days as i had symptoms. took 4th gen test at 23 days. is that close though to 4 weeks to be definitive? i am at 6 weeks now and have a rash on upper body. had unprotected sex with heroin addicted prostitute?

: It is time for another 4th generation test so the result is considered conclusive. VDRL is also indicated if it has not been done. If both tests are negative, you should see a dermatologist. Good luck.

Rash: Take pictures to show to the doctor and start by using a Hydrocortisone cream you can find over the counter after you initially bathe him in a cool water bath with a hypoallergenic soap and pat dry (no rubbing or scrubbing).

how many benadryl (diphenhydramine) is recommended for an adult with an allergic reaction to an sulfameth/trimethoprim. itchy mouth, rash on upper body ?

Sulfa rash: Although Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25-50 mg up to 4 times daily can be taken to control the itching, the rash is unlikely to be controlled by an antihistamine.  If the problem is intolerable,  you should contact the doctor who prescribed the drug re this issue. The reaction can rarely  be life-threatening when the mucous membrane at the eyes, mouth , genitalia become inflamed.

??????????????: Without a detailed description of the rash or photos (which this site does not allow us to see), little can be said about your rash. One generality is that rashes on only one area are more likely from a contact reaction. if generalized it could be illness or food reaction.

Rashes ? : Rashes are visual, meaning we need to either see them or have you write a description that is adequate to provide a mental picture.
