Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. If you are overweight it may be due to sleep apnea and you should try to lose weight.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Time to see a doctor: A young adult who feels a rapid resting heart beat (over 100) or palpitations should be checked by her primary care doctor (family medicine or internal medicine) to make sure his body is ok from a general check-up point of view, and to listen to her heart. It could be a thyroid hormone problem, or could be that her heart is beating irregularly for another reason, etc...

Chronic lsd, pcp, psilocybin,  and mj use in susceptible individuals, can lead to brain thinking distortions that can trigger anxiety that can show up as tachycardia.

Nocturnal issues: Given your age this could be as simple as anxiety and depression or as serious as heart attack or even the response to breathing in too much acid if you have reflux disease.  I would get to the doctor to make sure it is not a sign of a serious illness.

Several things: Being not relaxed is just one of many things that affects heart rate and rhythm. You could have an overactive thyroid for instance. Fever can make you heart beat faster or being dehydrated. Some times the heart rhythm can just become abnormal such as when a person gets atrial fibrillation.

If your heart quickly returns to normal after awakening, it's likely normal but if you're not sure, have your doctor give you a 24  hour (holter) recorder and let's see what is actually happening when you awaken.
