this morning i was doing yoga. while in the inverted position of downward dog i had an excruciating, stinging, burning pain in the left side of my head, followed by watery eyes. it was horrible and quite scary. what do you think caused it?

: Your neck (cervical spines) position during that Yoga posture acutely irritates one branch of the cranial nerve which innervates that area and then reflexive tearing occurs. You should avoid this position for several days then be careful when you want to practice that posture again. Good luck!

i am very anxious/think bad things like impending death for me or my mom every day.heart rate went from 107-157 in 60 seconds, crying, blood shot eyes, tight chest for no reason at all. resent my boyfriend although hes great. all dr said is do yoga?

Hmmm....: In such situations, that could be all the doctor said, or it could be all that the patient remembers the doctor saying, or it could be just the part that the patient's brain decided to keep. Life is complex. Anyway, psychiatric symptoms need psychiatric solutions. One can ask her doctor about medications, probably short term at first. Also, finding a psychologist can be a helpful thing too.

Where cartilage meets rib or breast bone, is a joint that gets inflamed & painful under right circumstances, like too much coughing, twisting, heavy lifting, etc. Can last up to 8 weeks, responds to ibuprofen. See md if worsening or persisting.
