But...that survivor was put on a special coma-inducing protocol and is doing pretty well today. Anyways,rabies or no rabies,if that wound is infected it needs to be tended to, rabies considered,as well as tetanus and wound botulism and other infections or the results of those infections.Get to a doc now!

Rabies vaccine: Only hospitals carry the vaccines. Docs offices rarely carry them as they are to expensive and may just sit around in their vaccine fridge. Go to the er.

Nothing really: The Immune Globulin given soon post exposure can cause a fair amount of local pain but the vaccine is well tolerated and you do not need to avoid anything.
