Get checked: Typically an unhealthy tooth will abscess and the infection drains thru the bone and the gum, resulting in a draining fistula (pimple on the gum).  Infections have the ability to drain and evolve. Infections that evolve became cancerous. Get checked.

Infected tooth: the pus indicates an infected tooth. You need to go to the dentist and  get a root canal to remove the dead nerve. Then you should have all of the swelling and pus disappear.,do not wait as it can get worse and cause you ALOT of pain, swelling and infection. Until you remove the source of the infection, the nerve in the tooth it will not go away.
