Likely normal: It is likely that what you are feeling as "lumps" are normal lobules in the breast. "Purple" nipples is just  a variation on the normal color.
If you are sexually active, and If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

See below: It could be a blocked duct, a skin lesion or a growth.  This needs to be examined by your family doctor just to be safe.

Mastitis: You probably have a partially treated infection there - certainly when it was red and inflamed I would consider that a mastitis. Then, with the use of a localized antibiotic -you killed off some of the bacteria (probably Staph). You're body did some of the work too and now you're left with a partially treated infection. Best to show it to a doc who can help you-if for example drainage is needed.

six months post using a breast pump, my nipples look darker and have purple areas in them; one is darker than the other. prior to pumping, they were always inverted. there is no scaliness, itch, warmth, or lump. could it be breast cancer?

Dark aereolae: During and following pregnancy the area around your nipples which is called the aereola tends to darken . They remain dark during breast feeding but will lighten up but not completely when you stop. This is a normal phenomenon and is not a sign of breast cancer.

Mgt: Bruises resolve naturally and you should begin to see resolution in the next week. If there are other bruises, bleeding an evaluation including PT/PTT can be completed by your PCP.

Can still be normal.: What you've described is a normal  process of a bruise.  If the lump in the center has fluid inside and is increasing in size then she must see a doctor to evaluate this lump.  I need to see a picture of it in order to definitely say it's just a bruise and not to worry.  It's best to monitor for change in size and the amount of discomfort/ pain.

Angioma?: It sounds like an angioma, but i would strongly suggest that you not cut open lesions; that's how infections happen. And if it is in fact an angioma, it will bleed like stink.  Let your doctor or a dermatologist take a look.

Sometimes.: Medications, hormonal imbalances, substance abuse all can affect the breast tissue.  If both breasts equally affected, unlikely to be tumor.  If new and persistent, would encourage MD visit.
