do migraines cause temple arteries to bulge a bit ? their not noticeable but i can feel them and they pulsate. i am 18. no pain when i touch them.

No: Temporal arteries should be palpable normally. Migraine is a vascular headache intra-cranially, yet tenderness can occur extra-cranially.  Migraines are also uni-lateral, one side of the head; tension headaches and other varieties may be bilateral...  Temporal arteritis (ta), an autoimmune disease, can cause tenderness along the temporal artery.

Headache pulsing: Though the obvious artery can be associated with a benign headache, this is a situation where you need to be seen.  There is a condition called temporal arteritis that can cause headaches but many more problems neurologically and it has to be treated to avoid those things.  There are tests your doctor can order, or see a neurologist.

Pulsate: With blood flow and pressure, the artery walls will expand with each heart beat, then relax and deflate a bit, and the cycle continues with each heart beat.  When you stand up, people can sometimes get a low blood pressure, due to the positional change, and the heart may try to compensate by increasing its heart rate, and therefore, this may be more noticeable in your neck.

: You can't feel any pulse over a vein. The temporal artery can be easily felt when you place 3 fingers together on the temporal area.

: If you know where &amp; how to feel for a pulsating artery in the temple region it is normal. Whether it is normal or worrisome in any individual would depend on factors not provided in this post. This can be part of an exaggerated pulse seen in some medical conditions.

Normal: Mine too-everyone's does.  My Radial artery at my wrist, Carotid Artery in my neck...  Sign of life. It's a good thing

Anger, maybe: In some people, temporal arteries may bulge when they're angry.  There is also a condition called temporal arteritis which has little to do with stress, but everything to do with autoimmune response.  It's usually found in people much older than 18.  If concerned about yourself, please see your own physician for discussion and exam.  Help for stress ; anger is available too, with psychologists.

Possible: Scalp has a rich blood supply and it is possible you may feel a pulse.   The temporal artery on side of the forehead is consistently palpable.

Keep on Pulsing.: Pulsing arteries are completely normal and not a concern.  If the arteries become tender, then that would be concerning.  So, no worries and keep pulsing!

Yes esp in young: people. Veins and arteries are easily visible in the neck of young patients. This is conpletely normal.
