However, pregnancy is not the only cause of being one day late because onset of bleeding can vary slightly during a normal cycle or can be even later if problems a home pregnancy now with confirmatory one over the weekend would provide additional information.

If: your symptom doesn't improve after your period starts you might have an exam.  Also, it is common for women to have rib pain especially if they are well endowed. A good Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Or Chiropractic can evaluate and treat this.

Sex during period: Sex on any of the days of your period would not be expected to get you pregnant. The occurrence of this kind of event, while technically possible, is less than 1/100, 000. You are probably not pregnant, but, if you're concerned, get the test.

Get a breast exam: It is common to have breast pain. It is less common for pain in the breast to be related to cancer. There are however certain types of cancer called inflammatory breast cancer that should be evaluated and sometimes have the symptoms that you're describing. Most likely it's a chest wall strain or muscle pull or so called soft tissue injury.  Even heart disease can present this way.  Get checked!
