Yes: Yes, a Progesterone level at a week after ovulation ( usually day 21)  is done to check for objective signs of ovulation. A level over 10 is good, over 20 is great!
even if you ovulate, age over 40 is a neg factor( unfortunately). Many eggs are simply not fertile.  If you really desire a baby, see a reproductive specialist soon!

A little early : At 4 weeks it's a little early. Progesterone less than five is not a very good number. By 6 weeks &gt; 25 is excellent. Between 5-25 statistically doesn't mean much.

Unsure: That may be concerning, but a better indicator would be your quantitative HCG levels.

Unclear results: Progesterone levels change throughout the menstrual cycle. Because of this there are not usually checked as a baseline marker to gauge fertility. They are often checked on menstrual day 21 to determine if ovulation occurred. A Progesterone above 10 on that day reflects ovulation. Clarify with the ordering physician why this test was done and what interpretation they have for the results.

Probably ok: Congratulations, you are pregnant!  try not to treat the numbers, there really isn't much you can do about it.  While your physician may place you on Progesterone supplementation, there is no evidence that this decreases miscarriage risk.  That being said, it can't hurt. If the fetal size is appropriate and the heart beat is normal, try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Best of luck!

on chlomid 50mg i had a progesterone level test done at cycle day 21 and nurse said my level was a 7.5 can i still get pregnant at that level?

Yes you can: Yes, you definitely ovulated so it's still possible to get pregnant.  When you check a progesterone level it measures just a single point in time.  If they measured it again in 12-24 hours the result could be different.  It's true though that we want progesterone to be &gt; or = 12 for a strong ovulation.  If you don't conceive they might go up on Clomid (clomiphene) dose.

Progesterone: Some doctors will prescribe Progesterone pills. You may ask your doctor if you are a candidate. Most doctors would not put you on it at this point.

What: is your HCG level. Unfortunately, your low Prog could indicate a fetus that is not growing properly. This can mean a poss mc. Your doc will prob monitor your levels. An US will not show much as you are very early. good luck

: Ask your OB physician for an HCG quantitative test to monitor gestational progress.  If no bleeding occurs through the 8th to 12th weeks of pregnancy, the progesterone level is empirically adequate.
