There : There has been much debate over this topic. Some doctors tell their patients to use a back-up method while on antibiotics, while others do not. Personally I do not advise my patient to use a back up while taking antibiotics, for me there is not enough scientific literature out there supporting any effect.
If you suspect you may be pregnant (miss your next cycle) then obviously take a pregnancy test, but i suspect you are fine.

Sensitive : You may be sensitive to the medication. It should always be taken with food. If it continues consult your doctor and have the prescription changed or add an anti-emetic

Amoxicillin: In animal studies Amoxicillin did not cause any problems when given in large doses to pregnant rats and mice. The antibiotic has not been studied in pregnant women, but case reports suggest that Amoxicillin does not increase the risk of birth defects or miscarriages. If you are taking Amoxicillin and pregnancy occurs, let your healthcare provider know. Have a great baby.

Amoxicillin: Amoxicillin doesn't usually interfere with the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. If you are using them correctly, your birth control pills should still work and your risk of pregnancy should be very small. Hope this helps.

BCP: interrupted: Some antibiotics can interfere with the estrogen in the pill, causing some bleeding. If you took placebos three days later, and took seven, and started a new pack, there is minimal chance of pregnancy.  The pill "pack" is an arbitrary number: you can take placebos any time in the cycle, but not more than seven before starting a new pack of active pills.

my 18 month old has been on amoxicillin for 7days now and since then has been vomiting everything he eats except pedialyte and juice. is this normal?

No: Stop the amoxil (amoxicillin). If he is on it for strep throat he may need a different antibiotic for a few days. If for something else he may be better already but vomiting may be a side effect of the medication and the best way to find out is to stop it and see if it goes away..
