Yes and Yes: Birth control pills can cause nausea and vomiting. Blood test for HCG may be positive a day before expected period, however a negative result then would not rule out pregnancy.

: If you had sex since your last period do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.

Too soon: Nope. You wasted the money on the test. It is negative, but because you had not missed a period yet, and if your period does not start you will have to retest.  Wait a few days. If the period does not start then retest.

Late  period: Early and late periods are common for most people from time to time. Cycles usually self correct over the next month or two. If you do not want to be pregnant consider starting birth control to help regulate your cycle.
