4 week old hasn't pooped in 3 days. strictly formula fed since birth and lots of wet diapers. should i be concerned?

NOT UNUSUAL: Many babies start reducing BM's at 1 month of age so that skipping a day or 2 is not unusual. In breastfed babies ,they are absorbing more of the milk. With formula this can happen also, and as long as there is no increased fussiness, I would watch for one more day and then consider rectal stimulation with a glycerin suppository.

son was 9lb at birth, 8lb 7 oz at 4 days old, 9lbs at 2 weeks 1 day, now 9lb 9 oz at 3 weeks 5 days. 8-10 wet / 6-8 dirty diapers a day. he was 80th percentile and now 53th percentile. why? normal or a sign of issue with exclusive breastfeeding?

: After the 1st wk of life, after all babies lose weight (usually water weight), they begin to grow a long a particular % growth curve that is often not exactly the % of their birth weight.  If your baby has re-attained birth weight in the 1st wk &amp; is growing along the 53%, that's normal &amp; means nutrition &amp; hydration are adequate. Weigh at pediatrician's to make sure growth continues on that curve.

my exclusively breastfed son was around 9 lbs at birth. at two weeks after some jaundice he was back to his birthweight and 70th percentile. at 4 weeks he was 9lb 10 oz and down to 50th percentile. lots of wet diapers. can this be normal gain?

"hidden penis": Does your infant have a chubby belly obscuring his penis? This is the most likely reason why he has a hidden penis.  No need to revise or redo his circumcision.  Also ask your son's doctor at his next well baby visit.  Your doctor reassure you about your son's circumcision.

Most: If everyone was born by cesarean section, birth injury would be rare. We would trade the risk to the baby from vaginal delivery for the increased risk of major surgery to the mother.

what is the ideal birthing position?

Squatting: It depends on your body size, the baby's size, and whether or not you have an epidural.  Generally though, gravity always helps and squatting will also help.  Women who do yoga and pilates, both activities that strengthen your back and abdominal muscles do very well with pushing.  Also swimming is an excellent activity to prepare you for pushing.
